Also, when I am feeling creative, I play the guitar and write some music. I try to do lots of yoga and swimming to help distress. Finally, when I have a free day, I like to go out and discover the amazing city that Toronto is! As an international, commuter student, first year was a huge transition for me, but the friendships I made and the advice I got during ISO really helped me build a strong base. And I want to help new students to feel that way too!

Hi everyone! I’m Salma, a second year student studying Political Science, Peace Conflict and Justice and Near and Middle Eastern Civilisations! I live in Geneva, Switzerland but I was born in England, so I call both my home. I love reading, and in my spare time I like to walk down to the Harbour Front with a book to watch sunsets, which also happens to be a great way of procrastinating! I also like going to the gym with friends, and exploring new cafes around Toronto! I am really excited to join the IM team this year, and I am looking forward to meeting everyone!!

We are all so excited to welcome you to our flourishing community and show you everything Vic has to offer! Learning about and trying new cuisines is a reflection of her hopes to travel and immerse herself in other cultures! Feel free to reach out—Norah Jean is very excited to meet everyone!

Ariza Hossain

My name is Ariza Hossain, and I am an international student from Dhaka, Bangladesh. Currently, I am double majoring in Economics and Statistics. Beyond academics, I am quite involved with the UofT community through various clubs and extracurricular activities. Notably, I am a second-year learning community peer mentor and the Co-President of the Victoria International Student Association. Apart from these roles, I am a Potterhead,  a huge sports enthusiast (soccer, cricket, tennis, and F1), and a lover of Thai food. I enjoy hiking and rock climbing as well.  For the past two years, Victoria College has been my home away from home, and I absolutely love the Vic community.
