The city of Toronto has so much to offer and is worth exploring
Take full advantage of Toronto’s Public Transportation Network and discover the vibrancy and diversity of each neighbourhood and district
The TTC offers lots of ways to get around the city. Within their travel network, they operate subways, buses, and streetcars in Toronto and nearby areas.
Getting around Toronto quickly can be achieved by utilizing the subway, known for its speedy service. However, it's important to note that while the subway is efficient, it doesn't cover every corner of Toronto. Subway trains operate from 6 AM to 1:30 AM on weekdays and Saturdays. On Sundays, subway service begins at 8 AM and continues until 1:30 AM. The subway system consists of various lines and stations. Upon entering a station, you'll need to follow the signs guiding you to the appropriate boarding area and make sure to pay the fare before boarding the train. See below for TTC Payment
When navigating downtown Toronto, you'll have to choose between buses and streetcars. Streetcars generally offer a faster commute compared to buses, thanks to their higher speeds and fewer stops along the way. Additionally, streetcars provide a more spacious and comfortable experience compared to buses. Buses are more common outside of the downtown core. The embedded rails on the street ensure a smoother ride, enhancing passenger comfort. TTC streetcars are available round the clock. Most streetcar routes operate 24 hours a day.
Buses in Toronto operate at frequent intervals, ensuring convenient transportation throughout the day. On weekdays and Saturdays, buses run from 6 AM to 1 AM, with buses available every few minutes. On Sundays, buses run from 8 AM to 1 AM, providing reliable service. Bus Stops are found on major streets where there isn’t already a subway or streetcar. If you're unsure about the locations of the nearest bus stops, you can simply use Google Maps. Just open Google Maps and search for "bus stops" to quickly find all the bus stops in your vicinity.
