What is Commuter Orientation?
Prior to our official Orientation Week, our team hosts Commuter Orientation, or "Comm-O" as we like to call it, which is a day of programming exclusively for our incoming class of commuter students - and yes, you can participate in both O-Week and Comm-O! Here at Victoria College, we aim to provide you with a memorable introduction to university life.
Who is considered a commuter student?
A "commuter" is a student who travels from home in order to get to class every day - in other words, pretty much everyone who does not live in residence! At Vic, we understand that commuter students face unique challenges. Comm-O is designed to help commuter students better connect with the Vic and UofT community while providing an opportunity to engage in an eventful two-day event with your commuter peers!
CALLING ALL COMMUTER STUDENTS!
Comm-O, is ON and it’s starting with activities throughout July and coming to a close with a full day of programming on August 9th called Comm-O Day with the the 2025 theme “Victoriaverse”; it’s a day filled with pancakes, scavenger hunts, crafts, dinner at Burwash dining hall and karaoke. So mark your calendars for the dates below!
Below you’ll find all scheduling information so mark your calendars and fill in the form to register!

How to Make Your Commuter Lifestyle Work for You
The majority of students at Vic commute! To make your commuter lifestyle more enjoyable, here are our two favourite commuter-specific student resources:
WHAT A GREAT GROUP! CHECK OUT YOUR COMMUTING EXPERTS—THE VIC COMMUTER DONS!
Vic is unique in that it provides dons for both residence and commuter students. Dons are upper year mentors and facilitators who are here to help you with personal, academic, financial and social matters. They're perfect for connecting you to resources at the university. Comm Dons are all commuters themselves and give great advice.
WHO’S VOCA? THEY ARE YOUR PANCAKE LOVING OFF CAMPUS ASSOCIATION!
A TERRIFIC TEAM of dedicated students — a group of commuters, working for commuters. Members of VOCA love Victoria College, and work to make the commuter life the best life possible! They aim to spread this enthusiasm to all students, so that when it comes time for each of us to leave, we know that we have played our part in improving the university experience (and have enjoyed it, too!). They are responsible for events such as the traditional free weekly pancake brunches, movie nights, and so much more!
