What is the International Mentor (IM) Program?
Victoria College’s International Mentors offer support with your transition into the city and the Vic community. The International Mentors work closely with the Assistant Dean, International and Upper Year Students.
Your international mentors are Upper Year International Students who have first-hand experience with a successful transition to the city and campus community. They are selected and trained to provide peer support to our incoming International Students.
Our International Mentors help support the following:
1. Run International Student Orientation for our incoming International Students
Each incoming International Student at Victoria College will be placed in a group. Each group will be led by an Upper Year International Mentor.
2. Send regular emails with important campus updates to their assigned group of International Students.
Your International Mentor will stay in touch with you throughout the year to alert you of important dates, fun events, and other things happening around Victoria College and the University of Toronto.
3. Organize fun biweekly events that will help you connect with other students and get to know the city.
International Mentors plan and facilitate engaging events and programming designed especially FOR international students, BY international students! These events are free to all Vic students. A detailed schedule will be posted in September and will be updated weekly.
